Hi!
My name is Sam Smith, and as an experienced Person Centred Therapist I love helping people understand themselves better, encouraging new awarenesses that enable personal growth and well-being.
I've worked in a variety of settings including schools and pupil referral units, and as the Adolescent Psychotherapist in an inpatient psychiatric unit. As a core member of a university therapy team I was instrumental in delivering new opportunities for young adults to access therapy, including developing a Single Session Therapy model that reduced waiting times and provided help when clients needed it. I also developed and delivered a bibliotherapy service called Fiction Prescription.
As you may have guessed, along with 'people', my other big passion is books! Books enable us to enter worlds and lives we will never know, deepening our empathy and understanding, not only of others - but of ourselves as well.
I now offer bibliotherapy more widely and would love the opportunity to share it with you.
Welcome!
